AVALANE FLOWERS IN AMERICA AT Soolips prestigious bridal show in Los Angeles in March the flowers wowed everyone especially AVALANES water hyacinths and peonies. Moniek Vanden Berghe did a one day workshop for a small select group at Eddie Zaratsians www.tictock.com in Los Angeles on JUNE 28TH .she shared her secrets on how she fell in love with Avalane.

We cleared our shelves set to introduce a smart as fresh paint new look to our site..HOLD ON WE STILL ARE ON THIS PLAN .THE PAST YEAR WE HAVE BEEN BUSY IN BELGIUM WITH SETTING UP GREEN ACADEMY BELGIUM and it has taken up all ones possible computor time for one thing with school time for another and little time left over BUT we are coming out of the woods and hope to truly, really have a new selection of books and reviews and interesting extras like our introduction to you of AVALANE flowers www.avalane.com which are to sigh for and our soon to be direct information link to Green Academy Belgium (in english ))and yes the long coming For Floristry link for you .Its all work in progress project, we havent wavered from our visions just simply , we have not had enough time to keep all our colours in the air ...and now it seems our original webmaster has soujourned off to Asia ..a new problem to find and snare him to do a few renovations on the site... .
Less is more is still our policy even though we are in the process of adding these new floral friendly extras . You will see that indeed we promise all thats new and interesting , our view of what to read, have ,use, be inspired by in floristry art life ,very soon .To give hope we can make it date lets say mid July ? We DID shop again in JAPAN selectively in late June ,and we cant go past the MAMI FLOWER DESIGN SCHOOL and their publications for absolute inspiration..if you went to AIFD Symposium in Kansas City this lat week www.aifd.org you will have been be lucky enough to see a presentation by the schools leading designer, Keiko Okada .her work gives us rest in a frantic image driven world . We love the purity authenticity and creativity of the purpose run design room at the school and the hanakaburi that evolves there..As always we are keeping a sharp eye out for books we think pop a little more than others and are worth joining our considered super books only list, more and more we look at other design worlds and cross link them. Floral Design like so much of good design, Fiber and Textile, Craft, , the Fashion Planet and so on as well as the the 2,500 and 71 we can count ,bloggers out there who scan the world constantly for amazingly outre and incredible feasts of creativity are for us.... to share with one another .

We are collating a list of the magazines..(more for you to see we promise ) There are several and more we feel are inspiring and readable and to get excited about. If you do want a subscription send us an email and we will pass it onto the Publishers to follow up. GETTING BOOKS TO YOU in May 2009 this still applies please remember that POSTAGE and many times is done directly from Belgium and its i a huge challenge for us to organise , so to want a book is to recognise that sending it across country as in the USA and around the world is expensive .We are not Amazon who has a value,but a small committed independant niche market book collector and seller trying to do the best we can to get things to you as best we can.

began sucessfully in September 2008 with a years Master classes for florists, in Gent, Belgium, with a star studded faculty from Belgium,(of course,) including the former and much revered teacher of Moniek Vanden Berghe and company, Marc de Rudder. . Teachers from the famed Vugt school in the Netherlands , Muriel Le Couls of Structures book fame and Rob Platell from Holland are also involved . At Home with Geert Pattyn .A very rare event ..Geert takes few workshops a year and we have cornered him for this for you, two super days in store . He will share his Proven techniques, new methods, with ample opportunities to encourage your creativity. as well.
Thursday 10th At Home with Moniek Vanden Berghe Another sparkling day with this world leader in Bouquet making ..and more .Her view of flowers colour ,s use of textures is unsurpassable.
Friday 11th
A day with Tomas De Bruyne .Tomas has a Floral design reputation that circles the globe, hes a great teacher and has his special view about the soul of Nature which he brings to his work. The practical emphasis on contemporary table and event decorations, . and perhaps a special request here and there
The Seminar, officially ends at 6pm after Tomas bids you fare well .We trust by then you will have a bag of new ideas , techniques and thoughts to take home and set to work with.
